Bar Fridge Dimensions Guide — Every Size Explained (2026)
Bar fridge sizes run 350mm to 1350mm wide and 462mm to 2130mm high across the 313 models we stock. Exact measurements for every size category - mini, under bench, two door and tall - in mm and cm.
Bar fridge dimensions in Australia run from 350mm wide × 500mm high for a 23L micro mini up to 600mm wide × 875mm high for a single-door under bench model, with tall uprights reaching 2130mm. Depth runs 370mm to 720mm across the range, and 288 of the 313 bar fridges we have live sit between 470mm and 640mm. This guide lists the exact measurements for every size category — and how to measure your bench, cavity or corner before you buy.

Every range above is measured across the live KingCave catalogue, 311 of our 313 models carrying a published capacity. Capacity is only a rough proxy for format: the 100-165L band holds both under bench units and slim uprights, which is why its span is so wide. For under bench models on their own, use the measured figures further down this page.
What Size Is a Bar Fridge? Every Bar Fridge Size We Stock
There is no legislated bar fridge standard size in Australia - "standard" only ever means the category convention. Measured across the 313 bar fridges KingCave has live today, the honest answer is a range: 350mm to 1350mm wide, 462mm to 2130mm high, 370mm to 720mm deep, and 23L to 737L, from $282.15.
Bar fridge sizes Australia-wide cluster far tighter than that range suggests, because kitchen joinery sets the numbers rather than the fridge does. 227 of our 313 models are 600mm wide or narrower and 288 of them sit between 470mm and 640mm deep. The single most common footprint we sell is 430 × 500 × 700mm, shared by 37 models, every one of them 70L. When someone asks for a standard size fridge for a home bar, that or a 600mm under bench unit is usually what they mean.
Bar fridge height
Bar fridge height is two populations, not one. 219 of the 313 stand 875mm or shorter - the under bench and benchtop group, sized to slide beneath a benchtop. 93 stand 1200mm or taller - uprights, which need floor space and vertical clearance instead. The shortest model is 462mm high and the tallest is 2130mm. Where small fridge height is the binding constraint, 32 models hold under 50L and the smallest bar fridge we sell measures 350 × 425 × 500mm.
Bar fridge capacity
Bar fridge capacity runs 23L to 737L. 32 models hold under 50L, 117 hold under 100L, 94 sit in the 100-165L under bench band and 66 are 280L or larger. Drink fridge size is easier to compare in litres than in millimetres, and the two track each other closely: the 37 models sharing our most common 430 × 500 × 700mm footprint are all 70L. A full size bar fridge in our range means 280L or more, and those are uprights rather than under bench units.
600mm bar fridge sizes
A bar fridge 600mm wide is the workhorse of Australian kitchens, because 600mm is the standard cabinet opening. 21 of our models are exactly 600mm wide and every one of them is single-door. 16 of the 21 are under bench units running 840-865mm high, 500-575mm deep and 129-148L; the other 5 are freestanding uprights reaching 1998mm and 389L. A 600mm bar fridge in a 600mm opening leaves no slide-in tolerance, so measure the opening at its narrowest point before you order.
Under Bench Bar Fridge Dimensions — The Critical Measurement
Under-bench installation is the most dimension-sensitive use case. Standard Australian bench height is 870-900mm. Here's what you need to know:
- Maximum fridge height: our 79 under bench models run 650-875mm, 55 of them at exactly 840mm and 12 above 850mm. Under an 870-900mm benchtop, leave headroom for levelling feet and airflow
- Depth clearance: our under bench models measure 500-590mm deep. Measure from the wall to the front of your bench - the door needs room to open freely.
- Width: standard kitchen cabinet openings are 600mm. 53 of our 79 under bench models fit within that, including every one of the 51 single-door units. The wider ones are two-door and three-door formats.
- Front venting is essential: Under-bench fridges MUST vent from the front. Rear-venting models will overheat in enclosed spaces.
Those under bench fridge dimensions are worth stating exactly, because "under bench" gets used loosely. Across our 79 live under bench models the range is 430-1350mm wide, 650-875mm high and 500-590mm deep, 70L to 399L, from $647.00. Narrow it to single-door units and it tightens hard: 51 models, every one of them 600mm wide or narrower, 650-875mm high, 500-586mm deep, 70-164L. Those are the under counter bar fridge dimensions and under bar fridge dimensions to design joinery around. 55 of the 79 are exactly 840mm high, which is the closest thing this category has to a standard.
An inbuilt bar fridge is a different specification again. 12 of our models carry a built-in mounting rating in their manufacturer specifications, meaning they are sanctioned to sit fully enclosed; the rest are freestanding units that happen to fit under a bench. If you are pairing a bar fridge with cabinet joinery, check that rating and the ventilation clearance on the product page rather than the external dimensions alone. A commercial bar cooler for a venue is larger again - our commercial range runs 23L to 825L and up to 2130mm high.

How to Measure for a Bar Fridge
- Measure the space — Width, depth, and height of the opening or floor space.
- Add clearance - the ventilation allowance is per model, not a rule of thumb. Across our range the published rear clearance runs 20mm to 150mm (100mm on 122 models, 50mm on 104, 150mm on 49) and the side allowance 10mm to 40mm. Read the figure on the product page, or let the Fridge Fit Finder apply it for you.
- Check door swing — The door needs room to open at least 90 degrees. Some models offer reversible hinges (left or right).
- Measure doorways — Make sure the fridge fits through any doorways between your car and the final location.
- Check the floor — Ensure the floor is level. Use adjustable feet for minor adjustments.
Two Door vs Single Door — Dimensions Impact
Two-door (dual zone) bar fridges are wider but often shorter than equivalent single-door uprights:
- Two Door (dual zone included): our 36 two-door models measure 750-1200mm wide and 500-595mm deep; the 35 built to bench height stand 700-875mm, which is what suits them to an under bench run
- Single Door Upright: the 88 single-door models standing 1200mm or taller measure 390-890mm wide, 395-720mm deep and 1220-2130mm high, so they need vertical space rather than a bench cavity

Common Dimension Mistakes
- Forgetting door swing: A 500mm deep fridge with a 70mm thick door needs 570mm+ total depth.
- Ignoring power cord clearance: The plug adds 30-50mm to the back. Factor this in.
- Not measuring diagonally: If moving through a narrow doorway, measure the diagonal of the fridge.
- Assuming "under bench" means "under 900mm": 12 of our 79 under bench models stand above 850mm, and 8 of those are 875mm before the levelling feet are extended.

Mini and Small Bar Fridge Dimensions, in mm and cm
Mini bar size and mini bar fridge size are the same question asked two ways, and it is where buyers get caught out: listings quote litres while the space you are filling is measured in centimetres. Our 35 live mini models measure 350-570mm wide (35-57cm), 462-821mm high (46.2-82.1cm) and 385-595mm deep (38.5-59.5cm), holding 25L to 100L, from $377.00. 33 of the 35 are 500mm - 50cm - wide or narrower.
Those are the mini bar fridge dimensions in cm that decide whether a unit clears a bedside table, a desk return or a wardrobe base. Small bar fridge size and small bar fridge dimensions describe the same shelf of the range, not a second one. Minibar size in the hospitality sense sits at the bottom of it: the smallest bar fridge we sell measures 350 × 425 × 500mm at 23L. Room fridge size for a bedroom or a guest room is that same shelf again, where noise usually decides the purchase ahead of litres. For a fridge for office use under a desk, work to a 50cm width and check the height against the underside of the desk return.

Bar Fridge Size & Measurement FAQ
What are standard under bench bar fridge dimensions?
Across the 51 single-door under bench models KingCave has live, the measured range is 430-600mm wide, 500-586mm deep and 650-875mm high. 55 of our 79 under bench models are exactly 840mm high, which is the closest thing this category has to a standard. Most vent through a front grille, but the clearance each one needs is published per product, so do not assume zero. Check your floor-to-benchtop-underside height first, because 12 models stand above 850mm before the levelling feet are extended.
How wide is a bar fridge?
Of our 262 single-door models, 225 are 600mm wide or narrower; the full single-door span is 350-890mm. Two-door units run 750-1200mm wide and three-door formats 1345-1350mm.
What size is a standard bar fridge?
The most common home format is the 100-165L under bench bar fridge: 47 of ours sit in that band, measuring 495-600mm wide, 500-586mm deep and 800-875mm high. The alternative is a single-door upright - 88 models standing 1220mm to 2130mm tall, which need floor space rather than a bench cavity.
How do I measure for an under bench or under counter bar fridge?
Take three measurements: cavity width, cavity depth, and the height from floor to the underside of the benchtop. Add the door thickness (about 70mm) and 30–50mm plug clearance to the depth, and leave a few millimetres each side for a clean slide-in fit.
