What settles it with two doors.
Read this if the filters did not answer it. Every figure comes from the fridges on this page.
Width first
A double door bar fridge is about twice the width of a single, so measure the space before anything else. 29 of the 43 here are 860 to 940mm wide, roughly the width of a standard 900mm cabinet. 4 are 750mm, for a tighter space. 9 are 1,080 to 1,200mm: most of those are matching pairs, two single fridges sold together to sit side by side.
Height and the bench
Under a bench, height decides it. Each listing gives the opening the fridge needs, usually its own height plus 10mm. 8 stand 820mm or less, for lower benches. 20 stand 840mm and need about 850mm. 9 stand 850 to 875mm and suit taller benches, so check yours first. Most under bench models here vent through the front, so they need only 50mm behind and 10mm each side. See the under bench fridges for the full fit guide.
Glass, heated or solid
35 have glass doors and 7 solid ones. Glass shows the drinks and tells you what is left without opening a door; 21 have heated glass, which stays clear in warm, humid air. Solid doors hide the contents and use less power. For the whole range by door, see the glass door and solid door bar fridges.
One temperature or two
Most double door fridges run one temperature across both doors. The SK198D, SK228D and SK248D give each side its own cooling system, so beer and wine each sit at their own temperature. The JC165, JC165B and JC190-GG keep beer and wine apart too, with at least 8°C between their sides. More on the dual zone bar fridges page.
Inside or alfresco
36 of the 43 are listed for indoor or covered alfresco use, and 6 for indoor only. Outside, keep it under cover and out of direct sun. The 2 Rhino Envy models have 316 marine-grade stainless cabinets, the better choice near salt air or a pool. More on the outdoor bar fridges page.
Uprights and commercial
5 stand over a metre: full-height commercial uprights and fridge-freezers for a busy bar, a cafe or a big household. The Rhino SG2 range is built for commercial bars and sits under a bench. For more full-height choices, see the tall bar fridges and commercial fridges.
Running cost and noise
On the maker's figures, the twin doors that sell most cost about $115 to $250 a year to run: the JC165 about $115, the SK206 about $196, the SK245 about $214 and the SK228D about $249. Heated glass costs more than a solid door. Most of our best sellers run at 43dB, quiet enough for a living area; see the quietest bar fridges.
