The F40 in the dark, lit by one lamp and nothing else.
The F40 was built to be driven hard and not much else. Ferrari left out the carpet, the stereo and the inside door handles, made the body from panels of Kevlar, carbon fibre and aluminium, and put a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V8 behind the seats. It grew out of the 288 GTO Evoluzione program, and it still looks like a race car somebody forgot to take back.
Here it sits nose-first in a dark garage under a single lamp. The light runs down the bonnet, catches the Ferrari shield and the headlamp glass, and leaves the rest in shadow - just the red body and the rear wing standing up behind the roof. It is the quietest picture of the four, and the one for a wall with a lot going on around it: the garage, the study, the end of the bar.
